2 colors of marabou are mixed to make an attractive hue. Please choose
2 colors.
I don't have any experience with Atlantic salmon so focus on steelheading
in North America here. This type of flies have no chances in winter but
can be used often in summer to fall when water is low and clear.
When new and dry, this fly looks relatively hairy but once it gets into
water, the bulk gets very slim. So useful in slow moving water.
In low water, steelhead tend to be spooky and indifferent to flies. I witnessed many steelhead in those situations. They ignore all flies drifting in front of the mouths. But once it rains and river gets a bit colored, fish go crazy.

フワフワのマラブーを用いたスペイ的フライ。２色のマラブーをミックスしています。
アトランティック・サーモンの経験はないので分かりませんが、スティールヘッドに限定しますと、冬の釣りではほぼ使わず、夏、秋の釣りで派手な色がダメな時、モジャモジャした感じのフライが釣れることがあり、そんな時に満を持して使います。
乾いた時はボリュームがあるように見えますが、スペイフライは水中に入ると意外に頼りないシルエットになります。よって、流れが速いところでは細い一本の線になってしまいますので、ある程度ゆったりした川で使います。
水が少ないとどうにも釣れない状況になります。サイトフィッシングの・スティールヘッディングというのは現地では良くあることですが、全くもって無視します。この様な時に急な雨が降って、少し水に色が付いたようになると気が狂ったかのように入れ食いになることがあります。。
