Very effective variation with a shuck. Used often for madara kagerou and
etc.
Compara Dun was invented in USA and used widely everywhere. The floating
parts(hackle and wing) don't look bulky but this fly floats better than
we think. This fly works very well in many situations.
I used to live beside world famous Cowichan River. The river has a thick hatch of olive caddis. Olive Compara Dun worked magically even if they don't look similar to each other. In Hokkaido we don't use this much but anywhere west of Tohoku, we don't leave home without these variations.
Compara dun is not super durable so it is not suitable for blind fishing in the rough raffles and whitewater. |

シャックを装着したイマージャー形の強力フライ。マダラカゲロウなどに使います。
頑丈な浮力に関わる分（ウイング、ハックルあんど）がか細くて浮力が足りなさそうにみえるにも関わらず、結構な浮力があって、細いウイングも意外に良く見える便利フライ。実際の虫には似てもいませんが、非常に良く釣れてしまう人気パターンです。カナダのカウチンリバーという有名河川のほとりに住み着いていた時、5月の緑色のカディスのハッチにもオリーブのコンパラダンが良く効きました。北海道ではあまり多用することはありませんが、本州以西ではどこでも持っていて損のないパターンだと思います。ウイングは前、上、後ろ向きと色々な巻き方があると思いますが、上方を好んでいます。
浮力も十分ではありますが、どちらかというとライズ向けです。荒瀬や山岳域の叩いていく釣りにはあまり適していません。 |
