Probably this is one of the most frequently cast flies in the world. In
spite of the simple structure, Elk Hair Caddis is durable and effective
under many situations. The wing shapes of the real caddisflies and this
fly are different so we don't know if fish recognize this fly as caddisfly
but this fly catches fish just the same so how cares?
Rubber legs and tails are added to the standard Elk hair Caddis. In Hokkaido
this fly works better than standard EHC without legs.
All our hackling flies are made tough. We over wrap hackles with tying
thread and drop glue into the base of the wing. |

日本、世界中で一番投げられているフライの一つだと思います。簡素な作りながら、頑丈で様々な場面で使える優秀なパターンです。トビケラのウイングとこのフライのウイングの形状は違うため、魚がトビケラと思って食べているのかは分かりませんが、良く釣れますので、魚には美味しい虫に見えるのでしょう。
テールと足が付いたバージョンです。日本国内では北海道などで、大変効果的なフライです。通常のノーマル・エルクヘア・カディスよりも足が付いている方が釣れることが多く、真夏の上流域などに行きますと、大変活躍するフライです。
当工房のハックルフライはすべてハックルの上にスレッドで補強がされていて、ハックルの軸が少し切れても全部が使えなくなるようなことは少ないです。またウイングの根元は樹脂で補強されていますので、丈夫にできています。
