This has a typical and traditional steelhead fly proportion. Atlantic salmon
flies developed with quill wings, while steelhead flies did with hair wings.
Famous patterns are Thor, Skunk, Freight Train, Skykomish Sunrise...etc.
They have similar looks.
There is no rule of color combination so you can make your own patterns
endlessly and infinitely.
This fly has no internal weight so you can use it from surface fishing
on a greased line down to wet fishing on a sinking line. But it is not
suitable for cold water fishing or deep water fishing in a high water.
Under those situations, flies with extra weights such as cone head, dumbbell
eyes and etc.

古典的なスティールヘッド・フライといえば、このような形のパターンが多いです。アトランティックがクイルウイングから発展したのだとすれば、スティールヘッドは北米の文化背景に則するような気がしますが、性能、頑丈さ重視のヘアウイングで発達したと考えています。有名どころではThor,
Skunk, Freight Train, SKykomish Sunriseなどありますが、大抵ヘアウイング、ハックルと言った基礎的なパーツの組み合わせです。
特にこれじゃないとダメという色の限定はなく、永遠、無限に組み合わせることができるのも特徴です。
こちらのフライは典型的な古典スティールヘッド・フライのプロポーションを適当な色で作ったサンプルで、お好きな色で組み合わせてください。
このフライはノーウエイトですので、グリースド・ラインの表層の釣りからシンキング・ラインでの沈める釣りまで対応しますが、低水温期、増水期のウンと沈める釣りには適していません。そのような釣りではアイなどのウエイトを追加したフライを多用します。
